    PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES

    ACADEMY OBJECTIVES

    This Academy has been established to give opportunity to individuals within the scope of the music industry to participate in the Voting and Nomination process of the ABGMA. The ABGMA comprises of three (3) Awards, Island Groove Awards (Local Artists in Antigua/Barbuda), Media Awards and the Gospel Music Awards.

    ​In addition to that, members will be able to take advantage of exclusive benefits like discounted tickets to all ABGMA Events and access to forums, conferences and workshops hosted by So Arise Music International and affiliated partners.

    The ABGMA Membership Academy is intended to serve as a means to promote, enhance and further develop the industry in Antigua and Barbuda and across the Caribbean region. With shared interest and expertise this global vision will certainly fulfill its mandate in the years to come.

    Membership Eligibility Guidelines

    • The ABGMA Membership Academy is open to Industry Professionals in Music, Media, Film and Journalism from the Caribbean, USA, UK, Africa and other parts of the world.
    • Eligible Members must be 18 years and over.
    • Industry Professionals must be active in their stated field on a full time basis or must be a significant part of their professional career.
    • Industry Professionals must have published works, albums, singles, films and other professional recognition within their field be it locally or internationally. Service within the industry must be a minimum of 3 years.
    • 2 Reference letters from an Industry Professional and at least three (3) Sources where published works or any related documentation et cetera to aid in verifying credibility in the field. 
    • References must be legitimate and relatives are to be excluded.
    • Photo of one (1) Valid Government Issued ID.
    • Membership Dues are on an annual basis.
    • Membership Application Form is to be completed with all necessary documents for review attached.
    • Once an applicant is approved by the ABGMA Committee as an Academy Voting Member you will receive a Membership ID Number. This is not to be shared with anyone or transferred to any third-party organization or individual.
    • The ABGMA Executive has the reserved right to refuse or revoke membership if violations of the terms or any extreme case arises that becomes a hindrance to this organization's standard of excellence. ​A thorough review will first be done before any permanent decision is made.
